Sound:

Supposedly an FM recording, this doesn't sound too bad. It starts a bit rough and unbalanced but does get better. "War Pigs: is the early version with alternate lyrics.

Original Notes:
This very nice-sounding, early Sabbath live recording was originally uploaded by Blacklarbot. IIRC, he received it from Luciferburns who in turn received it from Per-Erik. Many thanks to all involved! Whether this is an AUD or maybe an FM or SBD recording, I honestly don't know.

The original info file had this listed as 3 March or 4 April, 1970, Sporthalle, Cologne, Germany. However, it is likely that the dates meant were actually 4 March or 3 April (which are the dates mentioned in other copies of this recording). Late February or late March have been mentioned as possible dates as well. If the date was 3 or 4 April and the venue information "Sporthalle" is correct, then this gig would have been part of the "Progressive Pop Festival" (feat. Yes, Deep Purple, The Kinks, Procol Harum and others) which took place on 3+4 April, 1970, at Sporthalle, Cologne. The festival poster is also included here but Sabbath aren't mentioned, maybe they were booked last minute?

Other copies of this recording have the venue listed as "Kouzenthans", which is very likely a misspelling of "Konzerthaus" ("Concert Hall"). So far, there is no evidence to confirm any of the aforementioned dates or places. According to my friend Rollerjoint, both 3 April and 4 March have the band playing shows in England, UK on the days before and after. Additionally, a concert ad exists for a Sabbath show at The Happy Star Hotel, West Croydon, England, UK on 3 April 1970 - but we have no evidence to prove that show did actually happen.

It is even possible that this recording is from some other city than Cologne, maybe even from a different country... I haven't been able to identify any audience chatter that might help determine the local language.

Thanks to Rollerjoint, Rob Dwyer, Per-Erik and Luciferburns for helping me with information.

PFK for the SDP:
To me, this sounds like a radio broadcast recorded on cassette and maybe this is around the 3rd or 4th Gen copy.
